Not too long ago, many of us met at Cycle-Con in the USA, the largest recumbent bike show in North America. Well, actually in the whole of America, and in the end it could be said to be the second largest such fair after SPEZI in Germany. It is, in short, an exceptional event, and I published a detailed report from this September a few weeks ago.
Today the organisers announced the location and date for next year. It was widely expected to move to another city in the US, perhaps even to the West Coast, where at the time Recumbent Cycle-Con was last held in 2013 in Pomona near Los Angeles, CA. But it isn’t. The organizers, led by Mark Crews and Marshall Randal, chose the same city and the same showground. That is, the Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia, Ohio.
And the reasons are twofold. The location they know doesn’t require as much time to prepare and the time saved can be spent not only to improve the entire fair, promote it and improve the accompanying program, but also to find a good location for the following year. The second reason is Xenia as such, which is a hub for bike trails and which many visitors have enjoyed on their bikes.
Also, the date remains in September. So the following should be noted in your diaries:
📆 Save the date:
September 20th-22nd, 2024 Xenia, OH, USA
The organizers also promise more space, streamlined check-in, more group rides, more accessory exhibitors, better food options and additional seminars.
For myself, I can say that I am looking forward to Xenia. The atmosphere this year was great and I believe it will be even better for next year. More group rides and more variety in the food sounds great too. So I hope to see you there!
