Marshall Randall, one of the most recognized figures at WizWheelz—the company behind TerraTrike and Greenspeed—is taking over the organization of Cycle-Con, the only dedicated recumbent bike and trike expo in the United States. He’s already working on the 2026 edition, which is set to return next fall.
A Key Force Behind the Event’s Revival
Marshall has been deeply involved in the recumbent world for years. As Sales and Marketing Director at WizWheelz, he played a major role in the post-COVID revival of Recumbent Cycle-Con, which the company had acquired from Charles Coyne (read the interview). Alongside CEO Mark Crews, Marshall helped bring the event back to life and back onto the calendars of all major recumbent brands, dealers, and fans.
The event was slightly rebranded as Cycle-Con, and quickly regained its position as a central gathering point for the recumbent community—an opportunity not just to see the latest trikes and bikes, but also to meet, ride, and connect.
Why Cycle-Con Paused in 2025
After three years of running the event, the organizers at WizWheelz decided to take a break in 2025. While exact reasons weren’t made public, it’s safe to assume the decision came down to both financial and staffing constraints. Organizing Cycle-Con was never anyone’s full-time job—it always competed with the company’s core business of designing, building, and selling trikes.
As the cycling industry began to feel the effects of the post-COVID slowdown, something had to give—and for 2025, that something was Cycle-Con.
A New Chapter with Familiar Faces
That’s when the team at WizWheelz started looking for someone to take the reins and give Cycle-Con the dedicated attention it deserves. They found the perfect fit within their own ranks.
Marshall Randall is now stepping away from his full-time role at WizWheelz. Together with his wife Kelle Randall, he will take full control of Cycle-Con’s future.
Kelle brings a remarkable resume to the project. She has managed and owned two independent bike dealers, helped bring Kestrel Bicycles back to the U.S. market, and built a successful career in residential and commercial construction and medical facility management. Her broad experience in logistics, planning, and project management will be a huge asset to the event.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Although there will be no fall event this year, fans of recumbents can already look forward to Cycle-Con 2026—and all signs point to a stronger, more focused event. With two passionate and experienced leaders at the helm, Cycle-Con is set to remain the go-to expo for recumbent bikes and trikes in North America.
The last two questions remain. When? And where? I had a call with Marshall, his wife Kelle and other industry leaders yesterday and according to the new organizing duo they are planning for a mid-September event somewhere in the Midwest again.
