In October last year, I wrote that SPEZI had been moved from April 2021 to September 2021, but I have even worse info today. The SPEZI show has been canceled completely for this year, so we will need to wait more than one year to the next one. I deeply hope that Charles Coyne will be able to organize the already planned Recumbent Cycle Con in Dayton, Ohio this October.

Here is the official statement from Hardy Siebecke, the organizer of Spezialradmesse (SPEZI):

“Unfortunately, we have to inform you that we have to cancel our event on 18 and 19 September this year due to the ongoing Corona situation. We have come to the conclusion that, in view of the existing uncertainties, the proximity to the next date, the expected infection control regulations for the halls, and a lower number of visitors due to corona, there is a great risk of an economic calamity. Therefore, there will only be a virtual SPEZI this year.”

The virtual SPEZI will take place online next weekend (24th and 25th April) with real-time lectures and presentations. I will bring more information about it within next week.
